Bob arranged for us to fly from the Marlborough Middle School on Labor Day weekend. Marlborough has a long tradition of Labor Day Parade.

This does set us up for new territory if the wind is not out of the south. Usually we are looking for a place to land by the time we get this far south.

The winds were out of the NNW, turning to the N and increasing in speed as you climb higher. This allowed all three balloons (Bob, Tom, and Me) to play in the W side of the Sudbury Reservoir. That is a VERY large body of water when you see it from the air.

I stayed above the water to keep the carpet dry, Tom spent minutes floating on the surface. Bob, however, tried to checkout a bit deeper.

Tom managed to land in a parking lot just across RT9 from the reservoir. I missed the corner of the lot and ended up a little south of the Mass Pike in someones driveway. Bob when a bit further into Ashland and found a place in the valley.
