This was a birthday flight, and since the passengers live near Honey Pot Orchards we got permission to fly from there early, before the apple picking crowds show up.

Beautiful morning with clear sky and light winds. Saturday was windy, and later this afternoon it is forecast to become windy. Head ENE across the pond, past the maze. Dropped low over the river before continuing on toward Crow Island. Winds not to far up were moving faster than forecast so we covered more ground. Around Maynard we climbed to turn more E and avoid Hanscom airspace, but eventually around 126 we had to come down to look for landing sites.

Flew over Walden Pond and talked to a couple boats. Continued across RT 2 but were moving too fast for a small backyard landing. Approaching 2A there were open fields and we managed one right after crossing the road. The surface wind was too strong (and the balloon was too deflated) to remain standing until the crew arrived.
