Good weather this year with 18 balloons registered. Saturday I took Ken from MetroWest Daily News up with Doug. Ken took a lot of pictures, thank goodness for digital memory cards and the delete button! He posted some really good one on MetroWest. Spent a lot of the flight near Rick Jones' cloud hopper before finally landing off the south end of the Collings Foundation runway and walked the balloon onto the grass. Saturday night the winds didn't drop early enough for a flight, but a few balloons did stand up later for a short glow. Sunday morning was another great day, with a few more clouds. We again flew ENE and stayed close to Rick Jones most of the flight. He managed to drop into a small yard, we popped up to move a little further NE into more open neighborhoods for our landing. And then ended up squeezed between two soft trees near tennis courts ("crew")... but no powerlines! |
