Yesterday we were touring Boston Harbor Islands while 6 balloons flew from Stow. Today we are one of five. Today we have a NE track instead of the SE of previous weekends. This put us over a lot of trees so we could stay low and out of the faster winds above about 200 feet. All five balloons stretched out although Bob, Rudi, and I were close enough to play leap from for lead. Spent a lot of time over Grassy Pond, south of Nagog Pond, watching Rudi float on the surface. Thought that with the low level left turn we might setup for Nagog, but when we finally climbed the winds has shifted further E toward RT2A and 27. Rather than get over the houses that late in the flight I chose to set down in the new construction, that used to be part of the golf course... 5th hole I was told. We were next to a gate, but it was locked and the crew had to be guided in from the Country Club entrance. |
