The weather was not cooperative this year for Pittsfield. We had just come through a heat wave and still had storms popping up on Friday. The winds were not good in speed or direction (S) for flight but dropped off to allow for a balloon glow. Saturday morning was still breezy but two balloons stood on the field, in time for a light mist to fall. Saturday evening was breezy and in the early afternoon a short but intense thunderstorm went through Pittsfield. Radar showed another storm SW that would pass S, but too close for safety.

Sunday morning was clear and calm. The early pi-bal showed a low slow SE track but by the time anyone got off we were heading ENE into the river, and on the surface we moved W back toward the field. I and several other balloons spent most of the flight looping over the river, mixing in a few balloon kisses. Rick actually made a pass back onto the field. He was at the north end with a gap in the trees so he could remain low to get all the way into the field. Shortly after that we all lost the W return and continued E. Several balloons landed in open sections of the cemetery, we put down off the N end and packed up there.
